IVF Treatment, a Boon for Childless Couples With High Rate of Success
It is often referred to an assisted reproductive technology for treatment of infertility. The externally fertilized egg is implanted into either the mother or the surrogate’s uterus. IVF is done when a problem in either the male factors such as sperm count, sperm quality or female organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterusare unable to participate in normal fertilization process. The treatments are available for both males and females with careful selection of male sperm and female egg under a controlled decontaminated environment. Options for surrogacy are also available.
Hysterectomy, using Laparoscopic Technique
Uterus is one of the most important organs of the female reproductive system. Hysterectomy is performed to relieve the patient from certain conditions such as cancer of the reproductive system (uterus, cervix, ovarian, endometrium, fibroids etc.), severe endometriosis (growth of uterine lining), chronic pelvic pain, post partum hemorrhage (post delivery bleeding due to placenta praevia or percreta) and several forms of vaginal prolapse. It is also performed as selective form of sterilization in cases of gender transition, developmental disabilities. The type of hysterectomy is performed after careful selection of the treatment required from an option of radical (complete removal of uterus, upper vagina, lymph nodes, ovaries and fallopian tubes), total (removal of uterus and cervix without oophorectomy) and subtotal (removal of uterus leaving cervix in situ). The newer techniques of performing hysterectomy involve laparoscopic methods, which are minimally invasive and help in achieving faster recovery and better progress.
Myomectomy (Fibroids Removal)
It is also known as surgical removal of uterine leiomyoma or fibroids. It is often necessary when the fibroid causes pain or pressure, abnormal bleeding or interferes with reproduction. Before surgery can be performed management of fibroids with few other techniques are also done such as uterine artery embolization. A newer form of minimal invasive approach, which helps in is the HIFU technique, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The technique involves coagulating the extra muscles growths with ultrasonic waves. It is done to remove muscle growths/tumors in the uterus while preserving the actual organ, which is important for childbirth.
Poly Cystic Ovarian Treatment using Latest Drilling Technique
It is a common endocrine disorder in females and can interfere in the fertility of the female. The surgery is mainly aimed to relieve patients of painful menses, menstrual disorders, reverse non-production of egg by females and any other metabolic disorders. If medically untreated the newer techniques of surgically treating the condition are by use of drilling performed laparoscopically. It does not damage the normal ovary and is a very efficient technique of preserving the normal function of the ovaries.
Male Sterilization is done where the male vasa deferens (tube supplying the sperms) is cut and tied or ligated. The reversal of Sterilization can also be done if required in selective cases using minimally invasive techniques.
It is a very important stage of any parent’s life; we believe it should be special and done with appropriate care at each stage of childbirth to reduce the complications and threats both to the mother and the fetus. Following proper fetal care and ease of delivery has been developed and mastered over time and commonly followed. Some of the newer techniques involve water delivery, painless normal vaginal delivery, forceps delivery, vacuum assisted delivery and other latest techniques. After assessing the patients needs and medical requirements planned caesarean and normal delivery can also be performed.
